
Feature
Features are a way to delve deeper into your character’s background and set them apart. Each character can pick a single Feature, but be aware that not all Features are available to all backgrounds. Just like Backgrounds, Features will add a few Drives and a possible ambition to the character’s options. It’s also important to note that Traits gained through a Feature do not count towards the maximum number of traits a character can have during character creation.
Through a campaign, a player and GM may agree to change a character’s feature, or to tweak their existing feature if it makes sense within the character’s story. Alternatively, a character can choose NOT to take a Feature and instead take a free, extra Positive Trait. Some features include storytelling elements such as bounties, contacts, secret stashes and the sort which GMs can use as ways to insert prompts for missions and story arcs or to connect a character to the story.

Mention one or more virtues of your faction or organization- specially compared to others.
Speak about one of your contacts.

There is a spy in my organization/faction, it’s my responsibility to locate them and root them out.

Something strange is stirring within you, you hear echoes and see glimpses of a halo of energy trying you to the universe.
Perks:
Gain the Psionically Sensitive trait.
Specialized Skills (Pick 1) ; Empathy, Willpower, Presence, Knowledge.
Learn 1 additional Psionic Talent. Remember that once you learn a Psionic ability from one psionic tree, you can never learn any of the abilities from the trees.
Suggested Drives;
Approach a problem through the use of supernatural abilities.
Perceive something no one else can (which you can make up!)
Ambition:
I must understand and master the new powers awakening within me.

Start with a Personal Transport Ship from the Shipyard.

Talk to/about your Ship as if she was a person.
Try to give orders to your crew.
Ambition:
A bigger ship and a complete crew will open up new opportunities for me.

People who have made a living out of their ability to charm and enrapture. They often have friends in high places or wealthy patrons.
Perks:
Select one Social Skill, that skill is Specialized and has a +1 Modifier.
The Friend in High Places training option always counts as one level higher.
Start out with 3 High Society Contacts.
Start with an additional 500 credits.
+1 Modifier on Profession(Escort), Profession(Socialite) or similar.
Suggested Drives:
Fish for a compliment.
Refer to someone important you had a liaison, date or short relationship with.
Ambition:
There is something about my past my fans, clients, contacts and friends do not know. I’m on a journey to prevent it from being exposed, for good.

You can take up four points of stress before you gain a negative condition.
You begin with an additional Technical Proficiency.

Ambition:
Some inscrutable bureaucratic oversight has led the corporation you used to work for to saddle you with debt. You must pay it or teach them a lesson they’ll never forget.

Maybe you made some bad choices… or maybe you made some good choices. They say crime doesn’t pay, but that remains to be seen.

Start out with 3 Criminal Contacts.

Pick one of the following skills; Aim, Sneak, Investigation, Deception or Performance. That skill is now Specialized and has a +1 Modifier.

Suggested Drives:
Share a lockup/prison anecdote (which you can make up!)
Advocate for doing something illegal.
Ambition:
I sure as hell am not doing time, so I need to find a way to get this bounty off of my head.

Select one Mental Skill, that skill is Specialized and has a +1 Modifier.
One of your starting training options in the Mental Training category always counts as one level higher.

Suggested Drives:
Advocate for logical thinking (even if you're wrong.)
Quote a research paper or statistics (both of which you can make up!)
Ambition:
I have a thesis or theory my peers considered crazy but I’m convinced is accurate. I must find a way to prove if it.

An experiment by a shady organization in the fringes of space, you have now escaped. With no resources or contacts you are forced to survive using the skills your captors instilled onto you.
Perks:
Select one of the factions in your game. You gain the trait Hunted with the faction.
Gain the Psionically Sensitive or Genetic Modifications Trait.
Pick one of the following skills; Empathy, Willpower, Presence, Knowledge, Medicine or Athletics That skill is Specialized and has a +1 modifier.
Start with a Psi-enabler (if Psionically Sensitive) or +1 Gene-mod point (If Genetically Modified).
Suggested Drives:
Give out a fake name or history for yourself.
List the side-effects of medication or procedures (which you can make up).
Ambition:
There are others like me in another facility somewhere, they need my help.

You have inherited something important, be it a unique artifact, a mission, a way of thought, a story, a secret, or something else.
Perks:
Gain an inheritance as discussed and approved by the GM, this could be anything from a ship to a special piece of gear, property or even an idea or technology.
As long as your inheritance has not been destroyed, abandoned or lost, you have the God Kissed trait.
Whenever you perform a test that the GM determines directly relates to your inheritance, do so at Advantage.
Suggested Drives:
Weave a fact about your inheritance (which you can make up!) into a conversation.
Try to resolve a problem through the use of your inheritance.
Ambition:
This inheritance of mine is part of a larger whole, I must find the missing piece(s) of it.

Whether you are an investigator, detective or journalist, you simply cannot let a mystery lie and a stone left unturned.

Pick one of the following skills; Perception, Datacrafting, Diplomacy or Evasion. That skill is Specialized and has a +1 modifier.
Worldly training counts as one level higher
Gain 3 Law Enforcement or Journalism contacts.

Add something to a conspiracy board.
Be unreasonably suspicious of someone/something.
Ambition:
I am convinced someone powerful and influential is hiding a terrible secret, I must expose it to the world.

Though many of your key internal organs, spinal cord and brain are still very much human, almost everything else has been replaced with cybernetic parts.
Perks:
Gain the Cyborg trait.
Start with an additional 4 Implant Bulk
+1 Modifier on Fortitude and Vitality Tests
You can choose to start with an extra 500 credits but you gain the Hunted trait.

Mention a fact about one of your implants (which you can make up!)
Try to resolve a problem through the use of one of your implants.
Ambition:
Whatever situation caused me to lose my original body was not accidental, someone did that to me and I must find out who and why.

Pre-Blackout genetic modifications means no one alive today is actually completely human. You’re just equipped with a little bit extra… the mods were probably in your gene pool for hundreds or years, just waiting to manifest.
Perks:
Gain the Genetic Modifications trait.
Start with an additional 3 Gene-Mod points.
Must take at least one cosmetic Gene-Mod.
Suggested Drives:
Flaunt your genetic modifications.
Have one of your Gene Mods temporarily malfunction.
Ambition:
One of my gene-mods is actually a ticking time bomb and I need to find a way to fix it before it kills me.

You learned to provide for yourself in the wild, squaring off against all manner of creatures and challenges both alien and mundane.
Perks:
Gain the Friend of Animals trait.
Animal Trainer training option counts as one level higher.
You may pick a Rare Animal as your animal companion.
You gain Advantage on attack tests against animals.
+1 Modifier on Profession(Explorer), Profession(Tamer), Profession(Hunter) or similar.
Suggested Drives:
Talk to/about your Animal Companion as if they were a person.
Try to resolve a problem with the help of your animal companion.
Ambition:
The population my animal companion comes from is severely threatened. I must help protect them.

You have peers, allies, compatriots and loyal friends. They see you as one of them and as long as that holds true, you can count on their support.
Perks:
Gain the Well Connected trait with two Factions of your choice.

The Information Network training option counts as one level higher.
+1 Modifier on Profession(Broker), Profession(Emissary), Profession(Merchant) or similar.
Suggested Drives:
Advocate for actions that will benefit your faction.
Mention how your faction could help with the current situation.
Ambition:
There is a traitor or spy in the group or organization I'm allied with, I must root them out before they destroy it from within.

Perks:
Select any skill, that skill is now Specialized and has +1 Modifier.
Start with an additional Proficiency of your choice.
Start with two additional Level 1 Training options in the same category as your specialized skill
Suggested Drives:
Quote your mentor or instructional materials. (Which you can make up!)
Express disdain for traditional schooling.
Ambition:
There was something important my mentor/training left unfinished, it is now my duty to complete it.

“This isn’t your first rodeo.” It’s an old Pre-Blackout phrase. You don’t even know what a rodeo is, but you’ve been told that phrase applies to you.
Perks:
+1 Modifier on Strike or Aim tests.
Start with an additional Weapon Proficiency.
Whenever the character receives a permanent condition from Stress, they may re-roll the result but must keep the second one.
One of your starting Physical Training options starts at Level 3 instead of Level 1
+1 Modifier on Profession(Soldier),Profession(Mercenary), Profession(Guard) or similar.
Suggested Drives:
Recount an anecdote from one of your campaigns. (Which you can make up!)
Explain how you lost a limb/body part/got a scar/developed some other ailment. (Which you can make up!)
Ambition:
I made a bad call during one of my first tours and one of my friends didn’t make it back. I must find their next of kin and make it up to them.

The pull of gravity and the feeling of soil beneath your feet feels alien and unsettling. The Black calls to you more than any world could.
Perks:
Advantage on skill tests while in space/0G.
Gain the Leaf in the Wind trait.
Start with either Interstellar Navigation or Spacecraft Piloting Proficiency .
Only available for Spacers.
Suggested Drives:
Get planetsick.
Refer to natural things; such as trees, the sky, the ground, etc. by the wrong name.
Ambition:
There is something calling me in the dark of space, a dormant gate I see in my dreams. There is something for me there.

Casually recount an extravagant purchase or expense.
Ambition:
My family used to have a controlling stock in a powerful megacorp before we were pushed out by those we trusted. It’s time I take control once more.
